  • Italian data protection authority launched a public consultation on the adequacy of the retention period for metadata of employee emails.

  • Senate Bill 473 to enact the Georgia Consumer Privacy Protection Act was read for the third time and was passed with amendments by the Senate Science and Technology Committee. 
  • The White House published an Executive Order on Preventing Access to Americans’ Bulk Sensitive Personal Data and United States Government-Related Data by Countries of Concern following the release of its fact sheet on the same. 
  • National Institute of Standards and Technology published a Quick Start Guide for Creating and Using Organizational Profiles.

ASIA PACIFIC

  • Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission issued a fine of SGD 58,000 to Carousell Pte. Ltd. for violation of the Personal Data Protection Act.
  • Korea Internet & Security Agency and the Ministry of Science and ICT published a guide providing security measures to protect the data of users as it relates to the use of Network Attached Storage servers.
